Who we are

PreHammer (https://prehammer.com) provides a Chrome extension and web tools for UK motor trade buyers. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Account data: email address and subscription tier when you pay via Stripe; API key we generate for the extension.
• Pilot application data: name, work email, business name, buying sources, approximate monthly volume and the appraisal problem you describe when applying for founding-trader onboarding.
• Listing data you submit: vehicle details extracted from pages you appraise (make, model, mileage, price, registration when provided), sent to our servers for analysis.
• Usage counts: monthly appraisal and comp lookup totals to enforce plan limits, plus appraisal platform, success/failure and processing time so we can measure reliability and retention. These events do not store the vehicle, registration or listing URL.
• Anonymous activation data: a random extension token, extension version and timestamps so we can measure install-to-first-appraisal conversion. This event does not include your browsing history, listing URLs or deal assumptions.
• Deal assumptions kept locally: buyer fee, prep, transport, selling-cost and minimum-margin settings stay in Chrome storage and are not sent to our servers.
• Payment data: processed by Stripe; we store the billing country needed to distinguish UK validation from other markets, but we do not store card numbers.

How we use data

To run appraisals (available vehicle/MOT lookups, retail comp searches, AI analysis), deliver API keys by email, manage subscriptions, evaluate and contact founding-trader applicants, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

PreHammer's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use listing data only to provide, secure and improve the appraisal feature the user requests. We do not sell it, use it for personalised advertising or allow people to read it except for explicit support, security, legal or permitted aggregated operational needs.

Third parties

We send data to service providers needed to operate the product, including Anthropic (AI analysis), Stripe (billing), Resend (transactional email), DVLA/DVSA (available vehicle checks), and MarketCheck (UK retail comps). Each provider has its own privacy policy.

Retention

Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active and as required for billing and legal obligations. Anonymous extension activation events and unsuccessful founding-trader applications are deleted or anonymised after 12 months. You may request deletion by emailing [email protected].

Your rights

UK GDPR applies. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Contact [email protected].

Cookies

The marketing site uses minimal session cookies if required by our host. The Chrome extension stores your API key, deal assumptions and recent listing URLs locally in Chrome storage on your device, not in a third-party cookie. Listing URLs are not included in appraisal API requests.
